She was born on December 28, 1978 in Üsküdar district of Istanbul. Özgü Namal is originally from Skopje, Macedonia on her father's side and Thessaloniki, Greece on her mother's side. Her mother Akile Namal is a retired civil servant and her father Kubilay Namal is a retired merchant.
Özgü Namal graduated from Üsküdar Cumhuriyet High School. She completed her undergraduate education at Istanbul University State Conservatory Theater Department. She then studied acting at Kadıköy Public Education Center and Müjdat Gezen Theater.
In 1997, she started acting in theater with children's plays at Masal Gerçek Theater. In the same year, she experienced acting in front of the camera for the first time with the television series 'Beşibiryerde'. In 1999, he appeared on the big screen for the first time with the movie 'Kerem'.
Between 2003 and 2005, she was remembered for her character 'Elif Eylül', who played Polat Alemdar's lover in the series 'Valley of the Wolves'.
In 2005, she won the 'Most Successful Musical of the Year' and 'Comedy Actress of the Year' awards in supporting roles at the Afife Theater Awards for her performance in the play 'Kiralık Oyun'.
In 2014-2015, he took part as a jury member in the 'Yetenek Sizsiniz Turkey' contest.
Lastly, he did not play in any project after the series 'Lone Wolf' and the movie 'Are you with me?' in 2014.
