Gülse Birsel was born in Istanbul on March 11, 1971. Birsel graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics and started working as a reporter during her student years. In 1994, Gülse Birsel completed her master's degree in cinema at Colombia University. After returning to Turkey, she worked as a columnist and editorial director for many newspapers and magazines. In 2022, she undertook the copywriting and presenting of the program "g.a.g". In 2004, Birsel, who also took part in the cast of the series "Avrupa Yakası" (European Side), which she undertook the screenwriting of, made a name for herself with her performance. In 2009, the actress played the character of 'Safinaz' in the movie "Yedi Kocalı Hürmüz" and she also undertook the scriptwriting and took part in the cast of productions such as "Yalan Dünya" and "Aile Arasında".
