In 1978, he entered Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences. In the 1979-1980 season, he attended the courses of Ankara Art Theater. He worked as an actor, director, manager and instructor at AST until the 1995-1996 season. Between 1996 and 2000, he lived in Izmir for private reasons. In 2000, with the invitation he received from the State Theater, he joined the Ankara State Theater staff from the quota of trained artists. He took part in many plays at the Ankara Art Theater.

He continues his television works in audio and video. Gördüm, who was married to theater artist Vahide Perçin for a while, founded the acting school named AKADEMİ 35BUÇUK SANAT EVİ in Istanbul with Vahide Perçin in 2009. In 2013, he divorced his wife. They have a 1994-born daughter named Alize.

Altan Gördüm gave life to the character of Panzer Emin Hoca in the series Hayat Bilgisi and Kamil in the series Kavak Yelleri. He starred in the series Canım Babam, which aired between 2011-2012. He starred in the 2nd season of the series called Beni Böyle Sev. On the other hand, he attends acting classes at Academy 35Bçuk.
