Dramaturg / Director - Theater, cinema and TV series actor. Born in 1961 in Ankara. After high school, she studied singing and theater at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory. In 1979, she transferred to Ankara State Conservatory Singing Department.

After graduating, Yavrucuk joined the staff of Istanbul State Theaters in 1982 and continues her acting career under the same roof today.

Among the plays she has acted in are Spring Point, Fault Line, Leenane's Beauty Queen, The Lonely Woman, Let's Talk About Women, Red Shoes, The Woman Who Doesn't Exist, Yaşar Ne Yaşar Ne Yaşamaz, Gilgamesh, Hürmüz with Seven Husbands, Seed and Soil, Abdülcambaz and Macbeth.

She took her first step in front of the screen in 1988 with the series Önce Canan. Then she continued to act in many series and movies. In 2004, she got a big break with the series Yabancı Nehirat, which started to be broadcast in 2004, and in this series, she played the character of Feride Baklavacıoğlu and established a throne in the hearts of the audience.

Sumru Yavrucuk is fluent in Gestuno, the sign language of the hearing and speech impaired, and has directed and staged the play Thirsty Summer for the disabled.
