He was born on August 8, 1961 in Sinop. His full name is Serhat Süha Özcan. His father is a non-commissioned officer. He has 4 siblings. He graduated from Gemlik High School in 1979. In 1984, while studying at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory, he was drafted into military service.
Serhat Özcan started his theater career as an amateur in 1978 in the theater courses of Balıkesir Public Education. He worked at Y.K.Bank Children's Theater, Dostlar Theater, Ferhan Şensoy's Nöbetçi Theater, Istanbul Municipal Conservatory and then Beşiktaş Cultural Center in 1995. Between 1995 and 2001, he played the role of Berkant (Tribüşon)/Midyat in the series "A Bunch of Theater"; Yılmaz Erdoğan, Demet Akbağ, Olgun Şimşek, Birsu Demir, Zerrin Sümer, Erdal Tosun, Deniz Özerman, Altan Erkekli, Volkan Saraçoğlu, Şebnem Sönmez, Sinan Bengier, Neslihan Yeldan, Özge Özberk, Ayberk Atilla, Caner Alkaya, Pelin Körmükçü, Settar Tanrıöğen, Engin Günaydın, Binnur Kaya, Ersin Korkut.
