Metin Çekmez (July 26, 1945, Istanbul - August 25, 2021, Aydın), Turkish theater, film and TV series actor.

Metin Çekmez, an actor of Istanbul City Theaters, has acted in various movies and TV series since the 1970s. He is remembered for his character Cevdet in the TV series Super Dad.

Born in 1945 in Istanbul. He graduated from Pertevniyal High School. He was introduced to theater in 1962 when he and his older brother Dinçer Çekmez took the exam of Istanbul City Theaters. The two brothers acted as extras in the play Hamlet. After this experience, Metin Çekmez studied journalism at the two-year "Private Journalism School" in Istanbul.

After completing his higher education, he developed himself in the field of acting in a master-apprentice relationship. In 1970, he joined the staff of Istanbul City Theaters. In 1972, he started acting in movies with his role in Ertem Eğilmez's film Tatlı Dilim. He starred in many movies and TV series. Cevdet character in the series Super Dad, Rıza character in the series Ad Adı Adı Feriha Koydum, Ziya Yörükhan character in the series The Day My Destiny Was Written are among the characters he played.

The artist died on August 25, 2021, in the hospital in Aydın where he was being treated for tongue root cancer. On August 26, 2021, after the funeral ceremony, he was buried in Kuşadası Davutlar Cemetery.
