Melih Selçuk was born on February 7, 1984 in Kızıltepe, Mardin. He graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Business Administration.

Melih Selçuk was selected as the lead actor for Semih Kaplanoğlu's 2008 film "Süt" when he applied for the role after seeing an advertisement in the canteen while studying at university. In this first movie, in which he played the lead role with Başak Köklükaya, he received the Promising Young Actor Award at the 16th Adana Golden Boll Film Festival.
