Deniz Uğur is the only child of opera singer Mete Uğur and ballerina Suna Uğur and belongs to a large European family. Deniz Uğur is also a columnist, songwriter, novelist and screenwriter.

She graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory Theater Department in 1995. In 1997, she received the Promising New Actress award at the 9th Ankara Film Festival for her role in the movie Bir Erkeğin Anatomisi. She worked as a columnist for Vatan newspaper's Sunday supplement Pazar Vatan. In 2014, she was nominated for the Afife Theater Awards with the musical "Huysuz", in which she shared the lead role with Engin Alkan, even though the musical branch was not opened that year, and in 2015, she received a standing ovation from many masters such as Yıldız Kenter and Haldun Dormen in the play "Guguk Kuşu", in which she shared the lead role with Oktay Kaynarca.
