Aytaç Arman
Aytaç Arman (born Veysel İnce, June 22, 1949, Adana - February 26, 2019, Istanbul), is a Turkish film and TV series actor.
The actor was born in Adana in 1949. While studying at the Ankara State Academy of Architecture and Engineering, which he entered after graduating from the male art institute, he was selected second among the male candidates in the "Ekstra Ekspres" newspaper's competition for the "fixed artist" in 1969 (the winners of the competition were predetermined).
In 1971, in the serious "Cover Star Contest" organized by Ses magazine, he was selected as the second runner-up after Tarık Akan in the men's category and started his movie acting career with second-rate roles. With the guidance of İhsan Yüce, he attracted attention by starring in the movie "Baba" by his fellow countryman Yılmaz Güney. Years later, in an interview he gave about Yılmaz Güney, he said, "He is the blessing of this land. He is the person who gave momentum to Turkish cinema".
In a short time, he became a leading actor. He received his first award in 1981 with the "Best Actor Award" from the Cinema Writers Association for the film "Enemy", the screenplay of which was written by Yılmaz Güney. In his film career, he acted in ordinary films as well as films that attracted attention and won awards at festivals.
In 1974, he shared the lead role with Perihan Savaş in the film "Bedrana", directed by Süreyya Duru and adapted from Bekir Yıldız's story, which won the "Second Best Film Award" at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Competition. In 1977, he won the "Best Film Award" at the 14th Antalya Golden Orange Film Competition for "The Bride in Black Chador" directed by Süreyya Duru, in which he shared the lead role with Semra Özdamar. After the September 12 Coup, she took a break from cinema for 5 years. He returned to cinema with the movie Adı Vasfiye. At the 1988 Antalya Golden Orange Film Competition, Ömer Kavur's "Night Journey", in which he played the lead role, won the "Best Film Award" and Aytaç Arman won the "Best Actor Award". These were followed by other awards in his movie career. In the following years, he continued his acting career as a television actor in addition to cinema.
Arman died on February 26, 2019 at the age of 69 in Istanbul, where he was being treated for cancer. On February 28, 2019, a memorial ceremony was held at Atlas Movie Theater. After the funeral ceremony held in his hometown Adana, he was buried in Kabasakal Cemetery.
