Ali Sürmeli was born in Bingöl on April 7, 1959. He is originally from Muş - Varto Omeriyan village. His father was a postman who worked in many cities in Anatolia. He graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSÜ) State Conservatory of Fine Arts "Theater" department in 1985 and worked in Street Theater, Dostlar Theater and General Directorate of State Theaters. She acted in movies and TV series.
Her first leading role was in 1995 in the film Dream, Reality, Bir de Sinema, directed by Tülay Eratalay. He became known on television with the series Deli Yürek. He is remembered for his character Uncle Zaza in the series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu. He appeared on the screen with the role of Cansız in the series called Collision. Finally, he started to act with the character of Doğan Baba in the series Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz.
